1. Adani Airports to raise $1 billion from global investors
Adani Airport Holdings is set to raise about $1 billion from Temasek, BlackRock-managed funds, Alpha Wave Global and Premji Invest. The investors will collectively acquire up to 5.54% of the airport business.
2. JSW and Škoda Auto Volkswagen sign India JV pact
JSW Group and Škoda Auto Volkswagen have signed an MoU for a 51:49 joint venture covering internal-combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles. A binding agreement is targeted by December.
3. L&T wins up to ₹5,000-crore ONGC order
Larsen & Toubro has secured a large offshore oil-and-gas development order from ONGC covering the Ratna-I and NLM-14 projects. L&T categorises the contract as worth ₹2,500–5,000 crore.
4. Coforge chairman O.P. Bhatt resigns
Coforge chairman O.P. Bhatt resigned following concerns raised by an internal audit regarding the handling and disclosure of information connected with the company’s board evaluation report. The stock came under pressure.
5. Indian stock market suffers sharp sell-off
The Sensex fell 813 points to 74,764, while the Nifty declined 203.6 points to 23,431.50, marking the market’s third consecutive losing session. Rising crude prices and geopolitical tensions were major triggers.
6. IT stocks lead the market decline

1. Brent crude crosses $100 a barrel
Brent crude surged above $100 per barrel for the first time since July as the US-Iran conflict intensified and fears grew over disruption to oil supplies through the Middle East.
2. Global markets fall as oil shock fuels inflation fears
Higher oil prices triggered a broad risk-off move. The Dow fell 0.75%, S&P 500 0.30% and Nasdaq 0.35% in early US trading, while Europe’s STOXX 600 fell about 1.2%.
3. Fed rate outlook becomes increasingly uncertain
A Reuters poll still shows a majority of economists expecting the US Federal Reserve to hold rates through 2026, but an increasing number now see the possibility of at least one rate hike because of persistent inflation and surging energy prices.
4. China oil demand expected to fall 8.9% in 2026
Research from Sinopec’s research arm projects Chinese oil demand will decline by about 600,000 barrels per day, or 8.9%, this year. Gasoline and diesel consumption are both expected to fall significantly.
5. Yen strengthens as markets expect Bank of Japan rate hike
The Japanese yen has risen to around a seven-month high against the dollar as investors increasingly expect the Bank of Japan to tighten monetary policy. The yen has gained about 4% this month.
