16 Pink E-Autos Delivered Under ‘Building Queens from the Grassroots’ Initiative; Programme Targets 100 Women
TVS Motor Company, She for Society and Taliru Foundation have joined hands to support women’s economic empowerment through commercial mobility, with the launch of 16 pink electric autos for women auto drivers in Bengaluru.
The initiative, titled “Building Queens from the Grassroots,” aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women and encourage their participation in the commercial mobility ecosystem.
The 16 electric autos have been delivered to beneficiaries identified by Taliru Foundation, marking the first phase of a programme that plans to expand to 100 vehicles. The initiative has also received financial support from women’s organisations across India.
Through the partnership, the three organisations aim to support women entrepreneurs by enabling income generation, greater financial independence and participation in the mobility sector.
The launch event was attended by Smt. Aishwarya Mahadev, Vice Chairman, Karnataka Road Development Ltd., KPCC Social Media President and AICC Spokesperson.
Rajat Gupta, Business Head, Commercial Mobility, TVS Motor Company, said the company believes mobility can help create opportunities and strengthen livelihoods. He described the Pink Auto initiative as a step towards supporting women entrepreneurs and promoting inclusive commercial mobility.
Harshini of She for Society said the Queens Drive initiative seeks to help women achieve financial independence through mobility. She said the 16 pink electric autos mark the beginning of a larger programme aimed at empowering 100 women.
Chitra of Taliru Foundation said the initiative would help create meaningful livelihood opportunities for women aspiring to become independent earners, adding that the delivery of the first 16 autos was an important milestone for the beneficiaries.
