Molecular diagnostics company Molbio Diagnostics Ltd. is set to hit the capital markets with its ₹2,000-crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) opening on August 10, as the company’s top leadership outlined its growth strategy, innovation roadmap and expansion plans during a media interaction in Ahmedabad on Thursday. The issue will close on August 12, while anchor investors will bid on August 7. The price band has been fixed at ₹768-₹807 per equity share.

Addressing journalists, Dr. Chandrasekhar Nair, Executive Director & Chief Technology Officer, Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, Shiva Sriram, President – Business Development, Indraneil Borkakoty, President – Corporate Strategy & Mergers & Acquisitions, along with Hashil Shah of Kotak Mahindra Capital, shared details of the upcoming public issue and highlighted the company’s journey as an innovation-driven molecular diagnostics enterprise.

The management said the IPO marks an important milestone in Molbio Diagnostics’ growth journey and is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to scale its technology, expand manufacturing and enhance its domestic and international presence. They highlighted the company’s focus on developing rapid, point-of-care molecular diagnostic solutions that improve access to affordable and accurate healthcare.

According to the Red Herring Prospectus and the company’s announcement, the IPO comprises a fresh issue aggregating up to ₹2,000 crore and an Offer for Sale of up to 91.66 lakh equity shares by existing shareholders, including promoter entities and investor shareholders.

Investors can bid for a minimum of 18 equity shares and in multiples thereafter. The company has also reserved an Employee Reservation Portion, with eligible employees receiving a discount of ₹76 per share.

During the interaction, company executives emphasised that innovation, indigenous technology development and expanding access to advanced diagnostics continue to remain at the core of Molbio’s long-term strategy. They also outlined the company’s plans to build on its presence in India while pursuing opportunities in international markets.

Representing one of the lead managers to the issue, Hashil Shah of Kotak Mahindra Capital explained the IPO process and highlighted investor participation timelines and the book-building mechanism.

The equity shares are proposed to be listed on both the BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The issue is being managed by Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Ltd., IIFL Capital Services Ltd., Jefferies India Pvt. Ltd. and Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors Ltd. as the Book Running Lead Managers.
