Jitendra Tanwar Welcomes RBI’s Balanced Policy Approach, Says Stability Key for MSME Growth

Ahmedabad | 05 June 2026

Jitendra Tanwar, Managing Director & CEO of Namdev Finvest Limited, has welcomed the Reserve Bank of India’s decision to keep the repo rate unchanged at 5.25%, describing it as a balanced and prudent move that supports economic growth while remaining alert to inflationary risks.

Commenting on the RBI’s latest monetary policy announcement, Tanwar said the central bank’s decision to maintain a neutral policy stance reflects its commitment to closely monitoring both domestic and global economic developments before taking further action.

He noted that the RBI’s revised projections—raising the FY27 CPI inflation forecast to 5.1% while moderating GDP growth expectations to 6.6%—underscore the challenges posed by geopolitical uncertainties, elevated crude oil prices, supply chain disruptions, currency volatility, and weather-related risks, including concerns over a sub-normal monsoon and El Niño conditions.

Despite these challenges, Tanwar said India’s domestic demand remains resilient. He emphasized that policy stability is particularly important for businesses operating in Tier-II, Tier-III, and rural markets, as it enables them to plan investments, expand operations, and pursue growth opportunities with greater confidence.

Highlighting the concerns of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), he said businesses continue to face rising input costs, inflationary pressures, seasonal fluctuations, and working capital constraints. In such an environment, predictable access to credit becomes crucial for sustaining growth and maintaining business resilience.

According to Tanwar, the RBI’s measured and data-driven approach provides much-needed certainty to lenders and borrowers alike. He added that a stable interest rate environment also helps optimize funding costs and hedging expenses on development finance institution (DFI) borrowings, enabling financial institutions to extend competitively priced credit to entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Tanwar further stated that Namdev Finvest continues to witness strong credit demand across underserved and emerging markets. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering responsible, accessible, and sustainable financing solutions that empower entrepreneurs and contribute to India’s broader economic development.
