1. India Inc sales jump 19.4% in Q1 FY27: RBI
India’s private corporate sector recorded a sharp acceleration in sales growth to 19.4% year-on-year in Q1 FY27, compared with 13.9% in the previous quarter. Manufacturing, particularly automobiles, led the recovery, while operating profits also improved.
2. RBI relaxes rules for large FCNR(B) currency swaps
The Reserve Bank of India has relaxed the weekly access rule for FCNR(B) swaps above $100 million. The swap facility has already attracted $72.85 billion of inflows as of August 21, strengthening the banking system’s foreign-currency liquidity.
3. India seeks to expand its trade agreement with Japan
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said India wants to review and expand the 15-year-old India-Japan CEPA, making it more contemporary and opening new opportunities for Indian exporters. Japanese companies are also looking to increase sourcing and investment in India.

9. Symbiotec Pharmalab IPO ends with massive 71.26x subscription
Symbiotec Pharmalab’s IPO closed with subscription reaching 71.26 times, with investors bidding for 93.52 crore shares against 1.31 crore shares offered. The issue included a fresh issue of ₹150 crore and an offer for sale of ₹1,607 crore.
10. Indian markets fall; Sensex loses 539 points

5. OPEC+ loses influence as China gains greater oil-market clout

Reuters reports that the group’s market share has fallen from more than 48% before the war to about 40%, while China’s changing oil demand is giving Beijing greater influence over the market.
