1. NSE makes historic stock-market debut
The National Stock Exchange made its much-awaited public-market debut on September 24, opening at ₹1,800 on the BSE against its ₹1,785 issue price and closing at ₹1,818. Its market capitalisation stood at about ₹4.5 lakh crore.
2. Insurance stocks slide after IRDAI commission proposal
