Avenue Supermarts, which operates D-Mart, reported standalone Q2 revenue of ₹19,206 crore, up 18.4% year-on-year. Its store count reached 518 by September 30.

2. Jio Platforms IPO may open on October 21
Jio Platforms is reportedly considering an IPO opening on October 21, with the issue estimated at around $3.8 billion. The proposed listing is expected to be one of India’s biggest public offerings.

3. SEBI moves ahead on Closing Auction Session framework
SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey said the regulator will examine more than 3,500 responses received on proposed changes to the Closing Auction Session and move quickly towards a framework.

1. G7 agrees to release 100 million barrels from reserves
G7 countries agreed to release up to 100 million barrels of diesel, gasoline and crude oil from emergency reserves over four months to ease pressure on global fuel markets.

2. Oil prices respond to planned reserve release
Oil prices declined after the G7 reserve-release decision. The International Energy Agency said prices had already begun falling following the announcement and indicated that further releases could be considered if necessary.

3. Global AI investment enters unprecedented territory
Global spending on AI-related data-centre infrastructure could exceed $30 trillion by 2050, according to a PwC projection cited by Reuters. The scale of investment is prompting questions about future returns and productivity gains.
