Strengthening its commitment to sustainable public transportation, SWITCH Mobility Ltd, part of the Hinduja Group, today unveiled its all-new EiV9, a next-generation 9-metre electric bus, at Prawaas 5.0, India’s flagship multimodal transport exhibition. The company also launched its #SwitchKaro campaign, aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric mobility across commercial transport.

Designed for city transit, employee transportation and school mobility, the EiV9 combines advanced electric technology with superior passenger comfort and lower operating costs, offering fleet operators a practical solution for sustainable transportation.

Announcing the launch, Ganesh Mani, CEO, SWITCH Mobility, said the EiV9 marks an important milestone in the company’s growth strategy as it expands its presence across public and institutional mobility segments. With the 9-metre electric bus market projected to witness robust growth over the next few years, he said the new bus has been purpose-built to deliver what operators value most—higher efficiency, enhanced passenger comfort, advanced safety and lower operating costs—while creating tangible business value for customers. He added that the company’s philosophy is to make the transition to cleaner transportation both environmentally responsible and commercially viable, a vision reflected in the newly launched #SwitchKaro campaign that encourages businesses and fleet operators to embrace smarter, more sustainable mobility solutions.

Powered by a Permanent Magnet Variable Reluctance (PMVR) motor producing up to 213 kW of peak power, the EiV9 offers smooth acceleration, multiple battery pack options, regenerative braking and dual-gun CCS2 fast charging, enabling greater operational flexibility and reduced total cost of ownership.

Passenger comfort remains a key focus, with features including a spacious cabin, full front and rear air suspension, ergonomic seating, USB charging ports and optional pushback seats for staff transportation. Safety features include a Fire Detection and Suppression System (FDSS), disc brakes on both axles and a robust electric architecture engineered for dependable operations.

SWITCH Mobility also showcased its enhanced EiV12 Intercity electric bus, equipped with premium reclining seats, digital camera-based ORVMs, floor-mounted LFP batteries, dual-gun DC fast charging and the company’s proprietary SWITCH iON connected technology platform for real-time diagnostics, remote monitoring and advanced battery management, further reinforcing its commitment to advancing electric mobility for long-distance travel.
