HORIBA India Private Limited, part of the global HORIBA Group, has completed the acquisition of 100% equity in Pristine Deeptech Private Limited, effective January 14, 2026. With this transaction, Pristine Deeptech becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of HORIBA, marking a significant step in establishing HORIBA’s research and development footprint in India.

Based in Gujarat, Pristine Deeptech is an R&D-driven startup specializing in lab-grown diamond materials, vacuum technologies, and their applications in semiconductor and quantum research. The company has maintained a collaborative relationship with HORIBA since 2023. By integrating Pristine Deeptech’s expertise with HORIBA’s global capabilities in analytical and measurement technologies, the acquisition creates strong synergies across the semiconductor value chain.

The move positions India as a strategic hub for advanced materials research within the HORIBA Group. Diamond is increasingly recognized as a next-generation material due to its exceptional thermal conductivity and dielectric strength, with applications spanning semiconductors, quantum sensing, 5G/6G communications, electric mobility, data centers, and aerospace and defense. As adoption of lab-grown diamond technologies accelerates globally, HORIBA aims to leverage this acquisition to deliver innovative, high-precision solutions for emerging markets.

Commenting on the acquisition, Hideyuki Koishi, Director and General Manager (Group Strategy Division), HORIBA Ltd. and Chairman, HORIBA India, said the partnership represents a major milestone in strengthening HORIBA’s capabilities in advanced materials and semiconductors. He noted that establishing an R&D facility in India reflects HORIBA’s long-term commitment to innovation and to supporting technological progress in the region.
Rajeev Gautam, President, HORIBA India Private Limited, added that the acquisition aligns with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. He emphasized that the partnership reinforces HORIBA’s focus on localization, talent development, and building advanced analytical and measurement solutions for both regional and global markets.

The HORIBA Group has a long-standing emphasis on sustained investment in R&D, having established research centers across France, the United States, and the United Kingdom since the 1990s.
With India’s rapidly expanding industrial base and growing capabilities in deep technology and materials science, HORIBA now views the country as a potential future global innovation hub, with the acquisition of Pristine Deeptech serving as a cornerstone of this strategy.
