Indo-Swiss Blockchain Forum 2026 Concludes with Strategic Engagement at GIFT City

The three-day Indo-Swiss Blockchain Forum (ISBF) 2026 concluded with a high-level stakeholder interaction at GIFT City IFSC, bringing together regulators, academia, industry leaders, and law-enforcement representatives from India and Switzerland.
Hosted by Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in collaboration with NSE International Exchange (NSE IX), the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), and the University of Zurich, the forum focused on strengthening international cooperation in blockchain innovation, regulation, and research.

Focus on Blockchain Policy, Security, and Financial Innovation
Over the course of the event, experts deliberated on blockchain fundamentals, decentralized finance (DeFi), crypto forensics, anti-money-laundering (AML) compliance, asset tokenisation, and cross-border financial risks. Representatives from key regulatory institutions—including IFSCA, RBI, SEBI, and NSE IX—participated in discussions aimed at building a secure and compliant digital-asset ecosystem in India.
Stakeholder Interaction Highlights Strategic Importance of Blockchain

The final-day stakeholder session commenced with an introductory address by Praveen S. Kamat, Chief Information Security Officer, IFSCA, who highlighted the growing importance of blockchain technology and emphasized its relevance in strengthening financial systems.
This was followed by a session led by Shaan Jhaveri from the asset tokenisation platform Terezao, who explained the functioning of the platform and shared insights on the facilitation and support received within the IFSC ecosystem.
Keynote Focuses on Emerging Technologies
In the keynote address, Joseph Joshy, CTO and CGM, IFSCA, elaborated on the application of blockchain technology within the IFSC framework and highlighted emerging developments such as quantum blockchain and AI-driven blockchain solutions, underscoring their potential to reshape future regulatory and financial ecosystems.

Panel Discussion on Building India’s Blockchain Ecosystem
The concluding panel discussion featured Claudio J. Tessone, Professor of Blockchain and Distributed Ledger, University of Zurich; Benjamin Kraner, Research Associate, University of Zurich; Al-Amri Eiman Saud, Doctoral Research Scholar, University of Zurich; Shirinkumar, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India; and Praveen S. Kamat, General Manager, IFSCA.
The panel focused on enabling a robust blockchain ecosystem for India through the exchange of best practices, regulatory perspectives, and collaborative insights among stakeholders.

Forum Concludes with Commitment to Continued Collaboration
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Hitesh Soni, NSE IX, who congratulated participants and experts for three days of rich dialogue, insightful deliberations, and meaningful exchange of ideas. The forum is expected to strengthen Indo-Swiss cooperation and further support GIFT City’s emergence as a global hub for fintech, blockchain research, and international financial services.
