In a major step toward improving public health and nutrition, Millers for Nutrition, powered by TechnoServe, in collaboration with the Gujarat Roller Flour Millers Association (GRFMA) and Fortify Health, unveiled seven new fortified wheat flour brands in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The launch celebrates not only innovation in flour fortification but also the millers’ commitment to delivering nutrient-rich, superior-quality wheat flour that combines taste, texture, and health in every grain.

Renowned for its purity and consistent grind, the newly fortified wheat flour ensures better absorption of nutrients such as Iron, Folic Acid, and Vitamin B12 — essential micronutrients to combat anaemia and hidden hunger. These fortification standards are designed to retain the natural goodness of wheat while enriching it with nutrients that enhance vitality, strength, and overall well-being.
The launch event at WelcomHotel by ITC, Ahmedabad, saw the presence of Abhishek Shukla, Country Programme Manager, TechnoServe, and Bhavin Raval, Quality Head, Akshaya Patra Foundation, who unveiled the new fortified wheat flour brands. Their participation underscored the collaboration between industry, nutrition experts, and social organizations to make fortified food a trusted and accessible solution for every household.
“India’s battle against malnutrition and anaemia demands bold industry leadership, and Millers for Nutrition is proud to champion that change. Today’s launch in Gujarat shows how millers can step up, fortifying everyday staples like wheat flour with essential nutrients so that healthy choices reach every kitchen,” said Monojit Indra, Senior Practice Leader at TechnoServe and Program Lead for Millers for Nutrition Asia.
Highlighting the public health relevance, Dr. Parul Kotdawala, Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and Infertility Specialist, added: “Malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies continue to affect millions of Indians, especially women and children. Fortified foods provide a simple but powerful intervention — reaching vulnerable populations at scale without changing food habits.”

The seven newly launched fortified flour brands — Radhe Makhan (Bhavya Food Products), Madhvan Bhog (Riddhi Siddhi Grain Processing), Rajbhog (Radhaji Proteins), RajShree (Giriraj Food Industry), Rohini Gold (Rohini Pulses & Foods), Zam-Zam, Muskan, Shudh (Fortune Proteins), and Lalwani Harry’s Chakki Atta (Bright Star Foods) — will soon be available across Gujarat.(Bilkul Pix)
By integrating modern nutrition science with traditional milling expertise, Gujarat’s millers are helping transform everyday staples into tools for better health. As Abhishek Shukla emphasized, “This launch in Gujarat is not only about new brands but also about building trust in fortified foods. By combining industry innovation with social impact, we’re creating a model that can be scaled across India.”
With Gujarat leading this fortification movement, the initiative signals a new era in India’s nutrition story — where high-quality, nutrient-enriched flour becomes a part of every meal, powering healthier lives and stronger communities.
