Tempsens Instruments (India) Limited, a Udaipur-based thermal engineering and specialised cable manufacturer, will open its Initial Public Offering (IPO) for public subscription on August 20, 2026, with a price band of ₹285 to ₹300 per equity share. The issue will close on August 24, while bidding by anchor investors will take place on August 19.

At the upper end of the price band, the IPO will raise about ₹650 crore, comprising a fresh issue of ₹95 crore and an Offer for Sale (OFS) of up to 1.85 crore equity shares by promoter-group and other selling shareholders. The shares have a face value of ₹4 each.
Investors can bid for a minimum of 50 shares, requiring a minimum investment of ₹15,000 at the upper price band. The equity shares are proposed to be listed on both the BSE and NSE.
Funds to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and reduce debt
The fresh issue component is aimed primarily at strengthening the company’s manufacturing and financial position. Of the net proceeds, around ₹18.13 crore is proposed to be used for capital expenditure relating to its electrical heating solutions and specialised cable businesses, while ₹55 crore will be used towards pre-payment or scheduled repayment, either fully or partly, of outstanding borrowings. The balance will be utilised for general corporate purposes.

The issue is being conducted through the book-building process. Not more than 50% of the net offer will be available to Qualified Institutional Buyers, not less than 15% to Non-Institutional Investors and not less than 35% to Retail Individual Investors.
From temperature sensors to specialised thermal solutions
Founded in 1990, Tempsens has built its business around industrial temperature measurement and thermal engineering solutions. The company designs and manufactures temperature sensing solutions, electrical heating solutions and specialised cables, with products customised to the technical requirements of industrial customers.
Its product portfolio includes contact and non-contact temperature sensors, thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors, pyrometers, thermal imagers, industrial heaters, calibration equipment and specialised cables. Its integrated manufacturing capabilities include processes such as alloy melting, wire drawing, fabrication, assembly and calibration.
The company’s products are used in industries where accurate temperature measurement, thermal control and reliable electrical systems are critical to manufacturing operations.
Strong position in India’s temperature-sensing market
According to the F&S Report cited in the company’s IPO materials, Tempsens was the largest manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors in India by revenue as of March 31, 2026, with an estimated 10.5% share of India’s temperature sensor market in FY26.
The company also claims a distinctive position in several specialised segments. It was the only Indian manufacturer of non-contact temperature sensors as of March 31, 2026, with an estimated 21.3% share of that market.
Tempsens is also among India’s largest manufacturers of electrical heaters in terms of installed capacity and is among the few companies capable of manufacturing low-voltage process heaters. It is undertaking R&D for medium-voltage heaters.

In addition, the company is described as the only Indian manufacturer of fibre-optic temperature sensors and thermal profiling systems, as well as the only manufacturer of pyrometers and online thermal imagers in India in FY26, according to the F&S Report.
International footprint
Tempsens has expanded beyond the Indian market and, together with its subsidiaries and joint ventures, operates manufacturing facilities across several countries. The company has 15 manufacturing units globally, including 10 in Udaipur, and has a presence through manufacturing operations or joint ventures in markets including Indonesia, the UAE and South Korea.
Between April 2023 and March 2026, the company served more than 1,000 unique customers and exported its products to more than 80 countries, according to the company.
Its customer base is spread across project/OEM business as well as the recurring maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) replacement market. The company says its project and OEM business involves stringent qualification and approval requirements, creating relatively high entry barriers for competitors.
Revenue and profit show strong growth
Tempsens has also recorded substantial growth in its financial performance. Its revenue from operations increased to ₹444.8 crore in FY26 from ₹274.8 crore in FY24, while net profit rose to ₹71 crore from ₹40.9 crore during the same period.
The growth reflects the company’s expanding presence across temperature sensing, electrical heating and specialised cable solutions, while its international business and recurring MRO requirements provide additional avenues for revenue generation.
IPO at a key expansion stage
The IPO comes as Tempsens seeks to strengthen its position in specialised industrial thermal engineering and expand manufacturing capacity in electrical heating and specialised cables. The fresh capital, together with the proposed reduction in debt, is expected to support capacity enhancement while improving the company’s balance sheet.
The company is positioning itself in specialised industrial segments where product reliability, technical expertise, customer approvals and customised engineering capabilities can act as entry barriers.
ICICI Securities Limited and JM Financial Limited are the book-running lead managers to the issue, while KFin Technologies Limited is the registrar.
