1. Sensex, Nifty extend losses for third session
Indian equities closed lower for the third consecutive session. The Sensex fell 48.78 points to 72,480.29, while the Nifty declined 95.75 points to 22,620.45, amid high crude prices, elevated bond yields and foreign fund outflows.

2. India’s IPO market heads for another strong year
India’s IPO market raised more than $9 billion during July-September, the strongest third quarter on record, taking 2026 fundraising above $13 billion.

3. Eight SME IPOs open to raise ₹440 crore
Eight SME companies — including TNA Solutions, Omara Ventures India, Sollfege Smart Electronics and SJP Ultrasonics — opened their IPOs on September 30, collectively seeking around ₹440 crore.

4. Inox Clean Energy files ₹10,000-crore IPO papers
Inox Clean Energy filed its DRHP with SEBI for a ₹10,000-crore IPO, comprising a fresh issue of up to ₹8,000 crore and an offer for sale of up to ₹2,000 crore.

5. Adroit Industries makes strong market debut
Adroit Industries listed at a substantial premium to its IPO price, with the stock debuting at ₹250 on the BSE against an issue price of ₹134.

6. SBI buys nearly 40% of Reliance ₹13,000-crore bond issue
State Bank of India led demand for Reliance Industries’ ₹13,000-crore, 10-year bond issue, reportedly purchasing close to ₹5,000 crore of the AAA-rated offering.

7. JSW Cement to merge Shiva Cement
JSW Cement’s board approved the merger of its listed subsidiary Shiva Cement with the company. The proposed share-swap ratio is five JSW Cement shares for every 41 Shiva Cement shares.

8. L&T wins ₹3,500-crore Dubai infrastructure contracts
L&T’s transportation infrastructure business secured two contracts in Dubai covering roads, bridges, tunnels, an interchange and cycling infrastructure, with completion targeted by end-2028.

9. DoorDash opens Hyderabad technology centre
US food-delivery company DoorDash has opened its first Hyderabad office and plans to create more than 3,000 jobs over the next two years. The centre begins with around 500 employees.

10. Coca-Cola weighs ₹1-lakh-crore-plus India bottling IPO
Coca-Cola is considering a December filing for a roughly $1 billion IPO of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, with Axis Capital and IIFL Capital Services among the banks working on the proposed offering.

International Business News Highlights

1. Oil rises above $103 as US-Iran talks stall
Brent crude climbed above $103 a barrel as stalled US-Iran diplomatic efforts and tight fuel markets outweighed signs of recovering Middle East supply.

2. China’s factory activity returns to growth
China’s official manufacturing PMI rose to 50.1 in September, moving back into expansion territory after two months of contraction. A private survey also showed stronger factory activity.

3. US stocks gain as inflation eases
Wall Street indexes moved higher after a softer-than-expected inflation reading reduced some concerns about further Federal Reserve rate increases, although oil prices remained a market concern.

4. Bank of England flags AI and debt risks
The Bank of England warned that rapidly increasing borrowing linked to AI infrastructure could pose financial-stability risks if expectations around AI earnings change sharply.

5. BMW announces restructuring focused on AI and new models
BMW unveiled a restructuring plan centred on management cost reductions, artificial intelligence and new vehicle models as the automaker seeks to strengthen its business performance.
