The Gujarat Tea Traders Association (GTTA) will celebrate the completion of 50 years with a two-day Golden Jubilee event on October 1 and 2, 2026, at the Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanuman Temple in Sarangpur, Botad.
Around 700 tea traders from across Gujarat are expected to attend the celebration. Traders, brokers and producers from Assam, Kolkata and South India, along with representatives from Siliguri and the Tea Board of India, will also participate.
The event will focus on the challenges facing the tea industry, emerging business opportunities, changing consumer preferences and the future of the tea trade. The association said the gathering will provide a platform for tea traders from across Gujarat to exchange views and discuss ways to strengthen the industry.
As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, former presidents and honorary secretaries of the association will be felicitated for their contributions over the years. The new executive committee for 2026-28 will also be announced.
The October 1 programme will include a welcome ceremony, cultural programme and Dairo folk music session. The October 2 programme will feature lamp lighting, addresses by dignitaries, the Golden Jubilee ceremony, felicitation of former office-bearers, the general assembly, souvenir distribution and fellowship.
The GTTA said the two-day celebration is intended to strengthen unity among Gujarat’s tea traders while reflecting on the association’s five-decade journey and the future of the tea industry.
